Podocarpus Macrophyllus can be grown in Full sun in 3 hours of direct sun. Can allow to turn into a tree or a low shrub. Zone 8b-10a. Shrub is found mainly in Japan or Asia. Plant 5 feet at least from structures or sidewalks or pipes. Can plant 2-4 feet apart, but remember they are slow growers. This is technically a drought tolerant plant once established.

Loropetalum is a shrub that is said to be able to be grown in full FL sun, but have found better results in partial sun. Zone 7a-11. Needs regular watering with well drained areas. This shrub leaf has colors of pink to purple with a cute pink flower. Has a pink flower. In the right conditions can be a very showy plant of color. Can be used as a single shrub or used as a hdge or turned into a sphere. In sunny conditions develops more flowers.

Green Ligustrums are fast in nature and have been used in gardens as hedges for many years. They do not like roadways or salt areas or poorly drained soil, but can adapt to many types of soils. Found mainly as a hedge near foundation of decks or buildings.We recommend regular watering. Plant does not get over watered. Zone 7-11.

Sweet Viburnum is a moderate growing hedge with white flowers. There are red berries that show up in northern FL in late fall & turn from red to black and attracts birds. Humans should not eat the berries. This is a fast growing shrub as it can grow 1-3 feet a year. Great for around a pool or as a privacy hedge. Likes well drained areas. This plant is a typical in most housing developments. Needs regular watering. Zone 7b-10. Does not like frost or cold wind.

Supensum Viburnum is a medium to fast growing shrub. This shrub can handle full sun, but prefers partial sun in FL. It does have fragrant flowers that attract all kinds of butteries and or humming birds. Small flowers are apparent most of the summer season with white and pink. Once established is a great addition for Xeriscaping landscaping as it is drought tolerant. Great addition to any small or large garden. Zone 8-10.

Walter’s Viburnum has fragrant leaves when crushed. This is a great shrub for a hedge or a tree. It will attract birds as well butterflies. Once established this plant is highly drought tolerant and can be used in Xeriscaping landscapes. Can tolerate a wide range of soils. It does have root runners which may be a problem and can be maintained by simply cutting back such suckers. It may develop root rot if too much water. Zone 6-10.

Trinnette can handle full sun, but prefer partial sun. This is a great low growing shrub with bright yellow in partial sun or full sun. Slow grower shrub or hedge. Zone 9- 11. Needs regular watering. Best around pool cages as they are slow growers and tend not to break the screen when growing.

Best in regular watering and can be grown in full to partial FL Sun. In full FL sun they will wilt initially, but should recover with regular watering. The red flowers attract humming birds and all kinds of butterflies. Very showy plant when blooms in late spring and late fall. Cover in 40 degrees or less.
